Losing Someone to Cancer

This is for anyone who has lost somone to cancer. I lost my adopted Mom to breast cancer some years ago. She was everything I could have asked for. She loved me because I was just me. She also loved my family and children as if they were her own.

It's been 10 months yesterday since I lost my sister (not under good circumstances)...it is not getting easier for me, time is not easing my pain, I just take it one day at a time....that's all I can do.....take all the time you need!!!

Hi, I am new to this. Just lost my husband Izzy to cancer on 9/1/2015. Not sure how to deal with my emotions and continue with my life. I was told time will help, but I am not sure. I was reading some of your posts and it helped me knowing I am not alone. Thank you

I lost my stepdad to cancer on Christmas Eve 2013.  I recently lost my mom to a rare form of bone cancer in January of this year.  I really miss them both.

I lost my husband of 41 years to cancer almost 2 years ago.  I really thought by now I would not be missing him so much, but it seems like I miss him more each day.  My life just seems to be spiraling out of control.  I've made changes I shouldn't have made, I've distanced myself from people I should have kept in my life.  I just don't know how to get through this.

Hello All,

The spammers/scammers have to be real monsters to be harassing people on this site. As it is, we are having to deal with death, loss, and grief. It's such an effort to make it through the day on a daily basis.

Sending you all prayers and good wishes for peace and consolation.

Thanks jill smith for letting us know how to block this spammer.

Stopping by to say hello to everyone.  Hope life is beginning to return a little bit to the normal for all of you. The pain, hurt, being lonely, crying and all grief will be with us for awhile, but as each day passes it will get a bit easier for us.  The ones left behind have to continue living until it   comes our time to make our journey home. My second husband has now been gone over 16 months and I can still re live the day he left. Then again I can remember each member of my family leaving too. Lost my MOM in 1966 ans still find myself wanting to call and talk to her. Lost my DAD in 1980 and the same thing feeling also, Have had to say goodbye to a lot of family and friends who also had Cancer. I am so glad that I have been taught that we will all re-unite one day in the sweet by and by. Meanwhile the days turn into nights and I keep moving forward. Know GOD is by my side all the way too. Actually I have lost two husbands and both with Cancer. That disease is terrible and plays havoc on the one who has been a victim of it and the family that has to sit by and can not help in any way. Prayers for each of the ones who post here and may God give you each peace and comfort as you move forward daily.  Will post as often as possible.          Blessings to all.

Just worried someone thought it was me. I trying to deal with my father-in-law with stage 4 cancer, have  already lost 5 family members to this horrid disease over the yrs,now face losing 6th family member in 6yrs,dealing currently with depression & a mother in law pushing us out just because my husband isn't his biological son & slating us for telling our teenage children that their grandad has cancer, dread to think what she will say when we tell our 5yr old after he sees his grandad tomorrow

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
