Profile Information

About Me:
I live in Oregon. I was married 5.5 years to my amazing wife Shellie.I have 2 beagles, Denver and Vegas. I work as an RN at a major hospital in Portland with Covid 19 patients and other patients. I am trying to grieve my wife's passing and also find my "new" life routine. None of this was my choice and I am lonely, lost, and very sad.
About my Loss:
My wife Shellie passed away on 2-19-21 from her 2 year battle with colon and ovarian cancer, that had metastasized to her small bowel, lung, and large bowel. She had just decided to go on hospice only 6 days before passing away. It happened so quick and we were both in shock She was a medical assistant for 28 years before retiring in January 2019 when diagnosed. We have known each other since I was 10 and her 13 but did not find our way to each other until 2015. We had that Once in a lifetime love that neither of us thought existed in reality.
Are You a Service Provider? If Yes, please tell us about your service.
I am a healthcare service provider.
I also was my wife's sole caregiver over the last year as she was unable to care for herself in most capacities.

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
