My son, Hunter was 16 when he passed away from a drug overdose (autopsy's not back yet, but I'm pretty sure that's what it will show) on the day after Christmas '09.This has crushed me. It was…Continue

About my Loss:
I lost my 16 year old son, Hunter, on 12/26/09, due to drugs. This is the day that I had dreaded and hoped would never happen. In my heart, I want to believe that Hunter is "safe" and wrapped in the Lord's arms, but that doesnt stop me from missing him daily. I have another son, Chris (19), he is my reason for trying to continue. I have so many, what if's, if only's, why's...it seems like I get no help from the police....i'm angry, hurt, feel guilty. I know people know what happened to my child and they know where he got the drugs from. I feel empty because I don't know what happened and everyone else seems to have moved on.

Hi Lorie,
If you still visit this sight I would like to talk to you. I found my 19 yr old son dead in bed on July 13 2010. And the detective has already made up his mind that it was a heroin overdose even though there is no evidence, nothing was next to him but a school book. My heart is broken and I would like to talk to someone. If you get this and would like to talk please e-mail me at JSLD68@aol.com thank you.

Hi Lorie, My name is Janet and I lost my daughter under somewhat similar circumstances in that if people around her acted differently she would be alive today. I also have had the police give up on her case which in my mind let a certain someone get away with murder. Hang in there kiddo. Oh by the way, my daughter Adrienne's birthday was march 19th too.

Being the Other Woman/Other Man

This is for anyone who has lost their lover to death and you were the other woman/other man in their life. We have to grieve in silence. I can't find any support groups and feel like I'm the only one going through this situationSee More

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
