Finding It Hard to Grieve

My mother's best friend Tina, who was like a second mother to me, was murdered December 3, 2010. I miss her so much, but it has been difficult for me to grieve. I don't think it has really hit me…Continue

About Me:
I am 16 and I'm a junior in high school. I love music; I sing, and I play guitar and piano. Jesus is my Lord and Savior.
About my Loss:
On August 4, 2009, I lost my good friend Tyler to an activity called the "Choking Game." He was 16 years old. Then, on December 3, 2010, his mother Tina was murdered. Tina was my mother's best friend, and she was like a second mother to me. Just recently, January 28, 2012, my Papa Howard passed away. He was 96, and even though he lived a long, full life, and I knew it was coming, it still hurts. All of this has been really hard to deal with.

I am no psychiatrist but mine told me something simple that surprised me.  Most of us avoid sorrow, avoid experiencing it; its not something we want or want to admit is there.  Its something each of us as individuals must adapt to and process and that for now, I believe is our test.  Trying to figure out how to incorporate it in our day to day lives and not deny its existence; that can be even more emotionally exhausting!  I hope there is joy around the corner for you darling!

Being the Other Woman/Other Man

This is for anyone who has lost their lover to death and you were the other woman/other man in their life. We have to grieve in silence. I can't find any support groups and feel like I'm the only one going through this situationSee More

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
