Like everyone on this site, I have been going through hell since my wife passed away, April 29th, 2015.  The past few weeks it has gotten worse until last night.  It was the middle of the night and, as usual, I was making numerous trips to the bathroom. Then for what amounts to 2 or 3 seconds, I saw directly ahead of me, standing at the bedroom door a vision. She was vivid to my eye and stood stock still. She appeared to be wearing the same type of hospital gown that she passed in. She said nothing and made no motion but faded away as quickly as she appeared.  I have never seen a vision as sharp in detail or one that seemed to fade into the background and then disappear. Her face was obscured. If it was my dear Nancy, I hope she is alright on the other side and will visit again. I was not frightened but I could not see her face clearly. "Nancy" I inquired and that was when she disappeared.  I am curious as if anyone else here has had such an experience. Today I feel a sense of calm I haven't felt in a long time.

That's wonderful; you are very lucky.

Yes. My son appeared to my mom...and he did the same, when he knew she could see him, he looked startled and faded from view.

My cousin's son also appeared to his grandfather. My cousin's son passed about 2 years prior to my Uncle (his grandfather). My uncle then passed about 1 month after this appearance.

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More

Sibling Loss

This group is for anyone that has lost a brother or sister. Sibling loss is often minimized and people don't realize how devastating losing a sibling can be. I lost my older sister and my life will never be the same. She was my only sibling, I looked up to her, I went to her for everything. I lost my past, present and future. It is traumatic.See More

Triggers Continue to Surface

Late February is a challenging time of year for me.  Jen’s birthday is the 23rd and serves as an annual reminder of all of the potential that was lost…Her’s (mainly), mine, the world’s honestly.  This year she would be 52…It is increasingly hard to imagine, through all of the iterations possible, what she could have become, what was to be her (significant) impact on the world. That being said, things, emotions, have largely settled down since I committed a potential version of what could have…See More
