About my Loss:
Although I have struggled with my own loss, my concern right now is for my friend, Ron, who lost his eldest son 2 years ago to suicide. Michael was a vibrant young man, who had a young daughter and a common-law spouse. He had asked some family members what depression felt like, but never did anyone think he would truly contemplate suicide. One day, after an argument, Michael returned to his home to find his girlfriend had left him and taken his daughter with her. Michael did not reach out to anyone...instead he chose to end his life. Ron's life has spiraled out of control since Michael's death. His marriage ended and he barely holds himself together, but tries for his other 3 children and 2 grandchildren. A man who once had mischievous dancing eyes, and who was always the rock everyone leaned on, is now quiet, subdued, sad...a shell of what he once was. Please help me find a way to give him purpose ago...a way for him to cope. Thank you.

For me the only thing that helps is others who have lived it & truly understand. Also- online helps for I dont face to actually face anyone - I can just say it like it is without feeling like an ambulance will pull in. I truly would not be here if I did not have other children. - I struggle to just be... He sounds like me... See if he will come on the site - hand him the web address or pull up the page & just ask him to read some of our stories - If it will help him - he will return....

"Welcome to the group.  I lost my partner on February 5th this year, so it's still pretty raw for me too.  Reading through your story really touched a chord with me.  Like you, I didn't think I would ever find a group like…"

Being the Other Woman/Other Man

This is for anyone who has lost their lover to death and you were the other woman/other man in their life. We have to grieve in silence. I can't find any support groups and feel like I'm the only one going through this situationSee More

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
