About Me:
I live in Ontario, Canada
About my Loss:
Both of my parents are gone, my Mother died of breast cancer when I was 18, and my father died of a heart attack in 2009. In the past 12 months I have lost a cousin and 2 dear friends to cancer, and my brother in law was killed by a car while crossing the street. My friend and former co-worker, who is part of this group, is in a coma and has been since November. It's been an emotionally draining year.

Vikki,

It is so hard to stay abreast of all the posts but I wanted to say how sorry I am to hear of both your own losses and the news that one of the people who has travelled through this site is now in what sounds like a pretty serious medical condition.  Reading through Todd's profile I see he was battling what we all do when his wife passed but that he also had two children who are now having to deal with their father being unavailable.  I cannot imagine the heartache that this has caused for all family and friends. You didn't say why he was in a coma and it is my hope that whatever happened for those of us suffering from the grief of the loss of our beloved maybe in his state of absence of mind he is traveling with his wife.

There is something very mystifying about how our very existence changes in one second.  There is simply no way to explain how surreal our lives are, even when we think we are living the dream.

Thank you for letting us all know about Todd and though I of course do not know him I can only hope for him that his outcome is what he wants in his inner soul.

Be blessed.

Being the Other Woman/Other Man

This is for anyone who has lost their lover to death and you were the other woman/other man in their life. We have to grieve in silence. I can't find any support groups and feel like I'm the only one going through this situationSee More

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
