About Me:
I am Gabby. I am 18 years old and I am currently a freshman in college.
About my Loss:
My brother, Evan, was 9 years old when he passed on April 24, 2012. He was at basketball practice, and at the end of practice he collapsed. It was totally unexpected. He had been healthy and never complained of being sick or anything. Evan was an amazing person, and even though there was a huge age difference between us, we were so close. Evan was a huge huge HUGE sports fan, he knew every stat about every sport. You could ask him just about anything, and more than likely he would know the answer.

This has been the toughest time of life and I miss him so much every single day. I always wonder WHY? But there is not a day that goes by that I wish I could just hug him and tell him I love him.

HI Gabby, i am so sorry for your loss. Evan sounds like an awesome young man, He was so young. I understand your wanting to hug him and tell him you love him. That's how i feel about my mom, i hope this site will help you in anyway it can. So far i have found it helpful to talk to people who understand. It's hard when no one gets our GRIEF.

Hi Gabby, Im so sorry for your loss of you brother. He sounds like a remarkable young person.  It is hard to figure out how to keep living when someone you love that much is no longer in your life in a physical way.  You will find understanding here so feel free to talk, ask questions, or just share how you are feeling.

Being the Other Woman/Other Man

This is for anyone who has lost their lover to death and you were the other woman/other man in their life. We have to grieve in silence. I can't find any support groups and feel like I'm the only one going through this situationSee More

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
