I can sympathize. I've been agnostic, but hopeful and spiritual I guess you could say, for most of my life. I've never been sure on a god, certainly not sold on the Christian one, but I always wanted to believe that at the very least there was a loving energy surrounding us. I no longer believe even that. I no longer believe there's a pattern or an underlying meaning or anything to redeem all of this suffering...and if that's true, if indeed the only meaning to life is what we give to it, than I no longer have the stomach for that either.
