I have lost alot for someone my age. I am only 23 years old. On April 9th, 2016 my grandmother was diagnosed suddenly with something that could possibly be cancer. They had to do more tests. ON her 66th birthday, April 20th, 2016 she was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. They told us it wasn't curable, but this strand was treatable and her life would sustain. We were excited and thankful. May 6th, 2016 we got the call she took a turn for the worst after her first chemo treatment. I flew from Florida to Massachusetts the next day. On May the 10th she passed. I was there for my Step- grandfather. He was devastated. So was our entire family. Her mother is still alive!! In her 90's!! I flew home the day after the funeral. And things were getting back to normal. Besides me now not having but 1 grandparent left. My grandpa died in 2009 and grandma in 2012. Everything was getting back to normal.. Kinda. As normal as it could. On September 21st, 2016 I woke up late for school. I saw my father was also late and I woke him up. He stated he felt sick so he was staying home. I left for school and returned at 3:00.  I walked into his room and he was sleeping, yes it was in the middle of the day but he wasn't felling good so I let him be. At 3:30 I left to go pick up my boyfriend from his house about half hour away so that we can go to church. On the way there I called my mom and told her to wake up my father to see if he wanted to meet before church for dinner somewhere. She said okay, she will call me back in a little. about 15 mins goes by and my best friend calls me. She works 12 hours shifts at 911 dispatch so it was odd that she was calling. I picked up the phone and she asks whats going on? I replied to her I have no idea what you are refering to, she said someone just called stating that cops, ambulance and fire dept are in route to my house and she was asking if we were all okay. I told her i wasn't at home but I'm sure it was a mistake and ill call her back. I tried calling my mom and brother. Nothing. It wasn't until my moms best friend called me and asked where I was. I was now 20 mins from home, boyfriend in the car. And I asked her what hospital to meet everyone at and she replied there was no need... He was pronounced dead already.

So here I am, 23 with no father  and no birth grandparents alive... TO say that I"m angry at what happened is an understatement to be honest. How would you suggest I cope with this......

I am so very very sorry!
I am nowhere near 23 and have some multiple losses but for us to both have only 1 grandparent left...feels unfair..as I am nearly 2x ur age. My heart hurts for you...and the only answer I have... I believe this sight doesn't want us to promote...so feel free to email me at 7thechery@gmail.Com so I may kindly tell you one view....meanwhile this sight has some support but a lot of heavy post incident grievers. I know I hope I will be able to "move on"within a timely manner from my most recent family membe loss...but due to our deep love it doesn't look like it will be any time soon... oh wait you did mention you go to c hurch.. which one might I ask... ? I do hope they can deal with your sad situation better than 2 of my 3 churches.... sigh... churches sometimes like us to look like we have it together.. this is why many churches are dwindling in number.. it isn't reasknable... so anyway... hang in there and know you have people on your side in this sight.... I am so very sorry for your many losses.....

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
