It is why I sought this site. As the world moves on and the condolences end, others are left in an awkward silence around you. They are burdened by your grief, though not in a cruel way...they just do not know what to say or do. I am awkward too. My thoughts and ways are no longer on the day to day or the workaday world. They hover in an abyss of darkness and loss. The sunshine which lights the joy in others burns my eyes. Their happiness brings out envy and intense emotional turmoil. I seek to hide away because every nerve is so raw. Yet, every morning I rise...I robotically function one day to the next...all the while screaming to the heavens at the top of my lungs for relief...for the ability to tear off my skin and become someone else...someone without this pain...

Eva, I am so sorry.  You are in such a fragile place with it only being a month.  My heart knows what you are feeling and it goes out to you.  I wish there was something specific to help, but being among others that understand your grief can be of some comfort in time.  Keep posting as you need and say what you feel.  No one judges here.

My daughter passed last month...I only have sadness. I have been quiet in my grief and the music gives voice to the words I struggle to say. They are an expression of the pain I know I have to release.

Beautiful song.  I have this in a folder of songs that I've accumulated.  Does it help you to listen to this type of song or does it make you sadder?

"Welcome to the group.  I lost my partner on February 5th this year, so it's still pretty raw for me too.  Reading through your story really touched a chord with me.  Like you, I didn't think I would ever find a group like…"

Being the Other Woman/Other Man

This is for anyone who has lost their lover to death and you were the other woman/other man in their life. We have to grieve in silence. I can't find any support groups and feel like I'm the only one going through this situationSee More
