Legacy

My mother didn't really get the chance to create a legacy for herself because she died so young. I want to do something more than just getting a nice tombstone for her, I want to do something that is going to actually create a lasting memory of her for the rest of the world. I'm already planning to create a web page so people can donate in memory of her. Does anybody have any other ideas? I want the whole world to know who she was.

Hi Julie,

My mom, too, went before her time. I lost her to cancer this past December. My mom loved nature and children, so my dad and I had a tree planted in her memory at one of her favorite parks, right next to the playground, so families can enjoy the shade that it provides.

The web page is a really nice idea. What did your mom like? Value? What helped me was to think about the things that mattered most to my mom and to go from there.

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
