Grief is a strange thing. Everyone grieves at their own pace... in their own time. I was fortunate enough to have my friends, family, and support group around me.

Love is also a strange thing. It comes to us, oftentimes, when we least expect it. When we aren't looking for it.

When Matt died, I thought my world had ended. But in an unfortunate turn of events, I found out many things about him that made it easier for me to pick up the pieces and start moving on. He wasn't a bad man. He hadn't cheated on me. But there were some decisions he made that really hurt.

Several months ago I reconnected with an old friend. Our friendship blossomed and we fell in love. This month we plan to marry in a small private ceremony.

My friends and family and (most importantly) my daughter adore him. I feel like God's hand has been in this from the start. I'm very very blessed!

One word about Matt's cheating on you---if it helped you to move on, good, but realize it is just a crutch.  Know it is okay to still grieve and miss him.  I had a similar experience with my late husband, this was before he got sick.  His illness brought us back together and we healed that rift before he passed.  But if it helps you, honey, let it...that is healthy in my humble opinion.  But just cause he cheated doesn't mean you didn't love him and don't need to heal.  I am happy that you have found happiness!!!!   love that!!!  you go girl !! I am proud of you...you are strong..and your daughter will be too because you are.....hugs and kisses and prayers for your continued happiness!!!    :)

Good for you. I know some day I'll find another person to love the way I loved my Lisa but that time isn't here yet.  Her love is all I need these days.

This is for anyone who has lost their lover to death and you were the other woman/other man in their life. We have to grieve in silence. I can't find any support groups and feel like I'm the only one going through this situationSee More
