About Me:
I AM 63 YEARS OLD AND JUST RECENTLY LOST MY 21 YEAR OLD GRANDSON IN A CAR ACCIDENT
About my Loss:
TREVOR WAS IN A SEVERE CAR ACCIDENT. HE SUSTAINED LIFE THREATENING INJURIES, INCLUDING SEVERE TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY, A BROKEN PELVIS, FEMUR, AND HIP AND BOTH SHOULDERS. AGAINST ALL ODDS HE SURVIVED FOR 2 MONTHS AND WAS DOING BETTER EVERY DAY. ON NOVEMBER 4TH HE UNDERWENT SURGERY TO PLACE A STINT IN HIS BRAIN TO REIEVE PRESSURE. IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE SURGERY THE FAMILY WAS TOLD ALL WENT "BETTER THAN EXPECTED." THE FAMILY WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE A FEW MINUTES BEFORE WE COULD SEE HIM IN RECOVERY. AFTER ONE HOUR WE WERE TOLD HE HAD TO GO BACK INTO SURGERY AGAIN. THE DOCTOR LATER EXPLAINED THAT THEY MUST HAVE KNICKED A BLOOD VESSEL AND TRAVOR HAD A MASSIVE STROKE. THERE WAS NO CHANCE OF RECOVERY AFTER THIS. HE WAS PUT ON LIFE SUPPORT AND AS HIS WISHES ON NOVEMBER 10TH HE WAS REMOVED FRON LIFE SUPPORT. HIS SISTER WAS WITH HIM WHEN HIS HEART STOPPED BEATING.

Being the Other Woman/Other Man

This is for anyone who has lost their lover to death and you were the other woman/other man in their life. We have to grieve in silence. I can't find any support groups and feel like I'm the only one going through this situationSee More

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
