Hi Rudi, My son, Aaron, passed away November 22, 2013.  I function in life, but it has taken true joy out of it.  I miss him and wish to dream of him just so I can see him again.  It is all so senseless.  All I can say just a little more than a year out is that I don't cry as much.  Thank goodness I have a job because otherwise I'd lose my mind.

For now, you just have to get to a point where you can do your regular stuff and then figure out what you're going to do with it -- a cause.  That's what I'm working on.  You can't avoid going through the grief process, so go with it.  At this point, I'm just happy I can get on a site like this and not break down, so it's progress.  virtual hug to you.

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
