I have 7 grandchildren.  The oldest is 21 and the youngest 2 are both 11.  Four boys, Three girls.  Losing their uncle in 2010 was the first real experience they had with death.  It was hard, yet kids have their own way of looking at things and they knew he had suffered enough.  That he was ready to let go of his crippled, pain racked earthly body.  But then their big strong Papa got sick.  The papa that took them to the Provincial Fair every year.  The papa that taught them how to read the rivers in times of flooding threats.  The papa that taught them how to play crib, and cut firewood, and work with loggers.  Out of the blue one day working 18 hour days, the next stuck in a chair with a neck brace on and an oxygen tank his best friend.  And then the worst, just gone!  So when one of the girls started having trouble in school it was easy to explain.  When one of them who has Aspergers Syndrome got worse we knew why.  The oldest boy, 17 had headaches, it was grief.  He was sleeping all the time and complained he couldtnt think right, it all fit in with grief. It was grief until he started having weakness on one side.  Then the headaches were not just grief headaches.  Last Monday they did a catscan and by Friday we knew it was not just grief headaches.  He has a 2cm cyst in his brain.  He will see a nerosurgeon next week.  He will have brain surgery soon after.  And please, please, please, let him be ok.  PLEASE!!

Thanks so much Amanda.  It means alot that people take the time to say a prayer for us.  Life is just bouncing us from one stress and tragedy to another it seems.  We are still waiting for a space in the hospital and with a neurosurgeon before anything can get done.  For now my grandson is stable, going to school when the headaches allow him to.  And we pray.........

"Welcome to the group.  I lost my partner on February 5th this year, so it's still pretty raw for me too.  Reading through your story really touched a chord with me.  Like you, I didn't think I would ever find a group like…"
