We lost our beautiful daughter Rea on 14th December 2016, she was 22 years old and due to get engaged to her boyfriend on Christmas Day.
She was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome last August and she was due to have a bone marrow transplant this month after finding 3 possible matches, but after a visit to the hospital in November we were told that her MDS had turned into Acute Myeloid Leukaemia and needed to start chemotherapy asap.
She was admitted to Liverpool Royal Hospital on 28th November but unfortunately contracted pneumonia and the antibiotics just couldn't fight off the infection which delayed the chemotherapy and she deteriorated very quickly.
She was our only child and amazing in every way.....I want to think if all the happy memories but every time I close my eyes I can only see her struggling to breath in ICU and we are both not sleeping and struggling to come to terms with our loss. We feel that we have let her down after promising her so much after her treatment.
I know things will never be the same again and I have to carry on but I have never felt pain and emptiness like this, even after losing my Dad.
I feel so envious when I see people with their grandchildren knowing I will never have that joy.
Please if anybody has experienced this loss I would welcome any suggestions to help ease our pain.

"Welcome to the group.  I lost my partner on February 5th this year, so it's still pretty raw for me too.  Reading through your story really touched a chord with me.  Like you, I didn't think I would ever find a group like…"

Being the Other Woman/Other Man

This is for anyone who has lost their lover to death and you were the other woman/other man in their life. We have to grieve in silence. I can't find any support groups and feel like I'm the only one going through this situationSee More
