About my Loss:
I haven't met many people who can relate to my family situation although I know there must be similar situations out there. My sister is in the process of dying due to her severe eating disorders. The eating disorders are symptoms of a trauma from when she was in her early teens and since then she has been in and out of rehabs, programs, group homes, psyche wards etc. And now, it's over ten years later and she has recently gotten a DNR in her medical records. It's been a very traumatic and exceedingly hard time. But I find myself really becoming more and more raw. I've learned how to function over the years with everything that is usually going on, I would even say I've actually been grieving for many years already but especially recently, I am really feeling the reality of it all and although my sister is currently still alive, she could have a heart attack at any moment. I mean I've always had that sense of waiting for the other shoe to drop, but more so now. It's been really difficult the past few months. I also recently moved back to where I grew up after my partner and I got married, so everything is a lot more visceral, usually I am not living so close to family.

"Welcome to the group.  I lost my partner on February 5th this year, so it's still pretty raw for me too.  Reading through your story really touched a chord with me.  Like you, I didn't think I would ever find a group like…"

Being the Other Woman/Other Man

This is for anyone who has lost their lover to death and you were the other woman/other man in their life. We have to grieve in silence. I can't find any support groups and feel like I'm the only one going through this situationSee More
