About Me:
I'm a happily married 33yr old with a 12 year old son and 14 year old stepdaughter that I adore. I cherish my relationship between me and my mother and grandma (AKA mema).
About my Loss:
My mema was diagnosed with bladder cancer in July of 2015. The cancer was too aggressive and she was 76 and treatment wasn't an option. She was given maybe 6 months in August. She left us to become an angel on October 23 which is my mother's birthday. My mother and I were the closest to her. She had Alzheimer's and dementia and never once forgot me or my mother. She would see me and say "There's my Sam" and tell me how pretty I was ( even in sweats). She was the kindest woman I knew and she didn't deserve to die unable to communicate. Oh god I miss her and don't feel like I'll ever have that happiness again. I also feel like I'm taking it harder because out of all of her grandkids, I was closest to her in the end even before we knew about the cancer.

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
