About Me:
I am from Des Moines Iowa. I have 5 children thats including my oldest the son I lost, three girls ages from 19 to 22 and a son age 6. I was the Iowa chapter leader of Parents of Murdered Children Inc. I lived in Los Angeles for many years and worked in the Film industry however I live in Wisconsin now and I work in the sales industry. I am a Christian and believe in Christ and the importance of family.
About my Loss:
In 2006 I received a call from the mother of my oldest son "Paul Shawns dead they killed him". They lived in Kansas City Missouri and I was back in Iowa. Me and my family and his friends from Iowa all drove to Kansas City and thays when I was told what all happened. Someone came into him and his fiancé s home and murdered both of them. This happened the day after we burried my Grandma. My son had came home to Iowa for the funeral and that was the first time I had seen him in a while. We visited and took pics him and his mom drove back to Kansas City and late that night around 3:00am he was killed. This was eight years ago however to this day I still have day ones.

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
