About Me:
I am 70 years old and suffered from depression a great part of my life
About my Loss:
when i was 22 years old I lost my first child, Doug, at the age of 3 weeks. He was born with a heart defect that was not detected when he was born. I went on to have 3 more children and at the age of 34 years my husband died of a massive heart attack. We found out years later that all my children were born with a genetic defect, which my husband suffered from that makes their liver malfunction and produce huge amounts of cholesteral with out them eating any fats. My youngest son dies at the age of 23 yrs. during multiple by pass surgery. That was in 1992. In 1998 my remaining son had heart attack and at the age 0f 36 and went through quadruple by pass surgery and he survived and is on medication and has a lovely family. My remaining child, my daughter has the disease but began the medicaion when she was 22. She is now 47 and has a lovely family also. I almost lost her qnd her 13 year old daughter 3 years ago in a horrible head on car crash. i will spare you alll the broken bones, live damage, pelvic fractures etc. I married again 10 years after my first husbands death and things were fine for about 10 years or so when he went into kidney failure. He was on dialysis for 2 years when I gave him one of his kidneys. This was in 1996 and the kidney is still holding up well. I take prozaic and it does help but I worry so much about my children and grandchildren that I don't feel like I have a normal life. I hate to answer phone calls or get my mail because I am always afraid that it is terrible news. There have been other things in my life that most people do not suffer, but i do not want to take up more time than I already have.

Jennifer replied to Robin H's discussion Lost my Partner who wasn't my partner in the group Being the Other Woman/Other Man
"Welcome to the group.  I lost my partner on February 5th this year, so it's still pretty raw for me too.  Reading through your story really touched a chord with me.  Like you, I didn't think I would ever find a group like…"

Being the Other Woman/Other Man

This is for anyone who has lost their lover to death and you were the other woman/other man in their life. We have to grieve in silence. I can't find any support groups and feel like I'm the only one going through this situationSee More
