About Me:
I'm a married forty year old mother of two boys. I've always been very close to my family (and my husbands family). I'm a person who feels everything deeply. People always tell me I think to much. My friends and family would describe me as very loyal, fiercly protective and a goofball :o)
About my Loss:
I lost my Dad to cancer on January 6, 2009 (six days before his 64th birthday). He was my hero, my rock and my strength. I'm a daddy's girl w/out a dad. My dad was diagnosed with a very rare type of cancer just ten months before he died. He had small cell carcenoma (lung cancer) in his bladder which spread to his liver. What was so surprising was he was always heathy and took good care of himself. I think the hardest part was knowing he wouldn't get to watch his grandchildren grow up. They were his life. The youngest was five and the oldest turned 9 a month after he died. I thank God we have a close knit family. My mom is such a strong person. She took care of my dad and went from being the woman who's husband would gas up the car to completely having to be on her own. I don't know how she does it. They had their forty year anniversary a month before my dad went. My brother and I both told my dad we would be the strong one and take care of everyone but of course my mom is the one with the most strength. I hope my dad can see how well she's doing.

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
