Profile Information

About Me:
I'm a 60 (nearly 61) year old native Texan, living the peaceful life on 15 acres in south central Texas with my husband, my daughter and son-in-law, two grandchildren and my father. I'm helping to homeschool the grandchildren, I have a passion for genealogy, I'm helping my husband design/build an addition onto our tiny house, and I love taking care of the yard.
About my Loss:
One year ago (Thanksgiving weekend 2015) we moved my mother and father into a tiny house on our property. Mom had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2015, and dad could no longer deal with her on his own. I watched her die for seven months until she slipped away July 18, 2016.

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
