Profile Information

About Me:
I am 55 years old with a bachelor's in psychology, master's in minstrel studies, and working on my 2nd bachelor's in church leadership.
I am the oldest of three and live in a small coal mining town in Southwestern Pennsylvania.
About my Loss:
I lost my mom to breast, bone, and lung cancer back on November 19th 2021, just 2 days before her 77th birthday and 3 days before my dad's birthday. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009. She was diagnosed with bone and lung cancer back on September 19 2021 and I was called on Sept 20th saying she was in hospice.
Due to COVID I was unable to see her until Sept when the home allowed me and my boyfriend come in and sit by her side.
Because I am the oldest, everything fell on my shoulders because my siblings did not care.
Now that I am on Christmas break, I have time to think and it is hitting me really hard. I am getting depressed.

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
