So, you ask what the hell is the 1952 club? Well let me explain my
friend, it is a very strange phenomenon! It all started with three guys
who were born in 1952 (Matt, Tim and Fred) and who all had lovely girls
for their daughters. All three of their daughters met in Mortuary
School at Wayne State in 2006. All of these girls, Alex, Brit and Abs
graduated from school and are currently licensed funeral directors. All
of these girls went to the same school and became fast friends,
drinking buddies and family! Though these girl's fathers never met here
on earth, they have met up in the great beyond, their personal heaven
(FYI Peppermint Schnapps, Jim Beam, and Johnnie Walker!) First it was
Tim, then Matt and lastly Fred. They were all too young when they were
taken away, causing us, daughters of the 1952 club great grief! For
some the wounds are fresh and deep, for others they have healed but with
scars, but we are here for each other and to listen and share our
experience. The fact is even though we are now funeral directors (even
though some were not when their fathers died) and somewhat have been
accustomed to this idea of death and cremating/burying the dead, this
fact does not make it any easier when it is our father. But we bond as
drinking buddies, friends, family and members of the 1952 club! All of
these great fathers will never be forgotten by the 1952 club, never
ever! It's just funny how things happen and people bond!

Love you ladies and fathers of 1952 very much! Sorry for randomness,
just drinking some beers and thinking about Freddy! Make of it as you
want:)

"Kali I’m so so sorry you are going through this. Grief is hard enough, but going through it secretly, all the while having to continue showing up for your kids, is just brutal. Perhaps your friend was careful to hide your conversations behind…"

It was not supposed to be like this

In 2014 I met the most amazing man ever. We were both in our very early 20s and were looking for different things at the time. We ceased communication for roughly 6 months. During which time, he completed basic training and joined the Air Force. By the time we reconnected he was already at his first duty station.. 8 hours away.We decided we wanted to continue our relationship and proceeded to cultivate a deeply emotional connection. Regular calls and video chats, visits while he was home on…See More

Being the Other Woman/Other Man

This is for anyone who has lost their lover to death and you were the other woman/other man in their life. We have to grieve in silence. I can't find any support groups and feel like I'm the only one going through this situationSee More
