About Me:
I am a 32 yr old heart broken daughter. Attempting to deal with the loss of both of my parents in under one year. My mom and dad were always very close and dear to me. I am lost without them. I find it unfair that they had to suffer and that they were taken away from me. I struggle with the fact that I am still here.... I dont want to be.
About my Loss:
My dad suffered a stroke in the middle of the night on May 18th. He passed away on July 6th of 2015. He was in a Coma for two months before he passed away.

Just six months later my mother suffered from hypoglycemic shock in her sleep and also fell into a coma on January 18 2016. She passed away on March 3rd, 2016.

What would you say?

A few nights ago I was watching the show ‘Catfish’. Im not sure if you’ve seen it before but its basically two guys whom get together to investigate and find out if people are who they really say they are over the internet.  The episode I was watching was a little different than the usual guy or girl trying to figure out if their internet significant other is really who they say they are.  This episode featured a young woman who said she had been contacted by a woman claiming to make contact…

Dangerous Days...

Some days hurt too much... They all hurt but sometimes it’s just too much. Some days feel dangerous. It’s like I have a little monster inside my chest. Aching and pounding against the walls. Trying to break free. Perhaps trying to quit. Days like these are dangerous. I find myself suffering from one of life’s many side effects; thoughts of suicide. I sit and stare at sharp objects. Wanting to just pick one up and drag it across my skin, just to take the focus off my internal pain for a few…

I didnt want to see you that way...

Both my mom and dad fell into Comas and suffered irreversible brain damage. They passed away 8 months apart from each other, leaving me all alone; sitting back in all black, wishing i could have them back.   My dad was the first to be taken away from me.  He suffered a stroke and had three hemerrages in his brain which caused the brain damage. His organs started to fail one by one and we decided we should release his body to join his mind. We turned the machines off on June 25th, one day…

Before the Storm Hit...

I lost my dear sweet mother on March 3rd of this year... Just 8 months after my Dad passed away.

She feel into a diabetic coma exactly at the 6 month mark. She had stopped eating and taking her medication once my dad had passed away.    While she was in a Coma, I was faced with the same decision we had to make when my dad fell into a coma and…

Thanks, Alin, for your kindness.  It is a daily struggle, as you well know.  I see that today is an unhappy anniversary for you.  I am so sorry!  I cannot even imagine the pain you are going through, to lose both your parents so close together.    Its hard to lose them at any age, but 31 is just too young to be without parents.  I was 43 when my mom died, and that was still too young!  I hope you have some close friends and family to be a support.  I am grateful for this site, it has helped to be with other people who understand.  Anyway, you be strong too!  You are in my thoughts and prayers, sweet girl!  Hugs to you...

Alin, my heart aches for you !  I am so very sorry about you losing your Mom.  To lose both your parents so close together,  I can only imagine how great the pain you must be feeling.  I want you to feel free to message me anytime you need to.  I know we are all virtual strangers on here, but we all share a common bond-- the death of our loved ones.  Please continue to keep in touch.  If you click on the  'Members'  icon above, there is a page that shows some of the counselors on here. There's a counselor by the name of Dennis C. If you click his picture it takes you to his page. On the left hand side of his page you can scroll down to where it says "Dennis' Discussions".  There is a link to access a brochure entitled , " When Someone You Love Dies."  I found it to be very comforting, maybe you would to.  It answers alot of questions people have when  they lose a loved one.  Dennis is also a very kind and comforting person to talk to.  I have a son who is 29, and I know he would be devastated if he lost his father and me!  So please, again, feel free to message me anytime. I am here and willing to be a shoulder to cry on, sweet girl!  Sending you big hug...

Truly so sorry, Alin ... I've had two great and irreplaceable losses within a short period of time, too, including my mother. I know how you feel.

I wanted to write today about anger. After my son passed away, many of his friends wrote beautiful memories and feelings about him via Facebook. I didn't realize how much he meant to so many people and how many lives were touched by his kindness. However, what angers me is that not ONE of these "FRIENDS" ever came to visit him in the nursing home. He was in a nursing facility for 10 years and yet only his dad, myself and his stepdad came on a regular basis. I understand that it's hard to see…See More
