I've been working on my 3-book novel series, which is something else I have been doing to keep my mind busy. The other distraction I've been trying to adopt has been coming here and posting a journal entry once a week. The problem has been that I continually forget. So, I'm going to make an event in my calendar on my phone to post here on a daily basis.

Diana,

I'm just now getting to the point where I can actually grieve my father. When Jeremy passed away (this was not intentional), it was like the idea of grieving dad took a back seat to the grief over my husband. Problem is, it's been 2 years next month since daddy passed, and I really don't know how to handle that pain.

I've always known the love of a parent is completely different than the love you have for your spouse and children, but I had no idea the mourning process would place me on a totally different emotional plateau than the one I had been on with my husband's death. I guess, now is better than never. (I'm sorry, dad.)  I Ieel extremely guilty for it taking so long for me to grieve my father.

It's nice to have a distraction.  What is the theme of your 3 book novel series?

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
