Hi PJ ESPO,

Your loss resonates with me.  I lost a great and beautiful love of my life, with whom I was deeply in love for the last 7 & 1/2 years.  He had a sudden stroke five months ago, followed by several agonizing days on life support in the ICU.

I had found him unconscious at home and ten days later had to make the mind numbing decision to withdraw life support.  The entire experience has been so profoundly surreal, traumatizing, devastating, and painful.  There really are no words.

I do know and understand your loss, and my healing thoughts go out to you.

Dear Pj

I am so sorry to have to welcome you to this site. I lost my son suddenly in a tragic car accident. He was 17. The sudden passing of our loved one is crushing and unbelievable. It is a pain like no other. I hope you can find some support and hope here. We understand your pain and I am sending you love and prayers. Connie

Hi PJ, I lost my son February 8 th. He worked until 130am fell asleep on the sofa and didn't wake up. His girlfriend and I found him the next day. Not sure if drugs were involved, but it doesn't matter. The pain and trauma we are going through is unbearable... I am soooo sorry for your loss.

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
