Being the Other Woman/Other Man

This is for anyone who has lost their lover to death and you were the other woman/other man in their life. We have to grieve in silence. I can't find any support groups and feel like I'm the only one going through this situationSee More

About Me:
64 year old co-dependent female
About my Loss:
4 weeks ago I lost my Soulmate/BFF that I knew for 40+ years. He accepted me any way I was and always helped me out of any problem I had. We were engaged at one point and intended on getting back together once herhad his kidney transplant. He was married but not happy but needed to stay there until he got his kidney. His wife had a boyfriend so she has him to lean on....I have no one because I always leaned on him. I'm lost and scared and empty without him. I'm finally not reaching for the phone to call him like we always did (anytime day or night) and I miss hearing his ringtone when he called me. Life will never be the same. I was very codependent on him and loved him so much. We don't even know yet why he died.
I've asked his wife for a pinch of his ashes for a necklace so I'd have a part of him and she got upset with me.now I'm afraid to bring it up again....it's now been 4 weeks so he should be back by now.

Ms. Linda - welcome to the group.  Certainly understand the feeling lost, scared, and emptiness after losing my wife.  You will see many groups [some more active than others], but everyone I have met has been supportive because all of have suffered with loss and grieving.

Check out the Grief Group and check out the online support group meetings on mondays if you want to share about your feelings.  I am so sorry for your loss Linda.

"I can understand how that makes it even more difficult, having become a couple on that occasion. I don't want to live without him, and I just don't feel that will ever change. So, it all seems so futile to go through this every day. "
