Dear Jodi,
I so very much understand. My mom died from cancer, breast to lungs. She died on June 8, 2010. What I thought was strength the first week, became numbness, and now as the weeks go on, left with the daunting task of mourning, while sorting my parents affairs and belongings, and still trying to be a wife, a mother to 4 young adults, a grandmother to be, and keep working to pay the bills.....the bouts of crying and sadness, and missing my mom are getting more frequent. I do know that there are no "shoulds" about mourning and grief. Thank you for being there. Knowing another heart is pushing forward, well it helps to know just that.
Jodi, I'm so sorry about your Mom. My Mom died on Feb 12 this year from abdominal cancer( following colon cancer that she had removed last April) My Mom was my best friend also. I was her only child and we were so close, even though I married and moved out of state, we still talked everyday and sometimes more than that.I feel the same way, I handled Mom's passing better than I expected I would. 2 weeks ago the heavy grieving started and I've never felt such pain in my life. For me I think it ws almost easier dealing with the memorial service and condolence's because I knew I could gather the strength to "get through" that week. But now I have nothing but time to have to deal with the pain. That's just my experience so far. If you need to chat, I'm here for you and you'll be in my thoughts and prayers. Take care, Tania
