About Me:
I'm a 48 year old female from Rome, Ga.
About my Loss:
My Mother and Step-daddy were both shot and killed in the house I pretty much grew up in on Jan. 23rd of this year(2015). The person who did it has been arrested and indicted by a grand jury he was arrested on Feb. 24th. but he hasn't gone to trail yet. Some times it still doesn't seem real, and I'm still in shock and just want to know why...I know there is never gonna be an answer that will, make sense or justify it or anything, cause nothing will bring them back!! I know it was over a check he stole, I just hope he doesn't try to say he was insane.. the thing is my mother was a psych nurse trying to help him cause he was saying his live in was a alcoholic which she was, we knew that. He didn't have to kill them, they would've helped anyone! It makes me sick to think about it sometimes..My mama was my best friend, and it is gonna be hard to go through life with out her, she always said nobody loves you like your Mama, and I know she was right. In the last 2.5 years this is 5 family members including her mama and daddy too.

So sorry about your loss. You are so right about the insane reason why. Still we cannot be in another's mind. My sister was murdered and when the murderer was contacted by the police he killed himself. He thought he had a week before the murder would be known. He left a suicide note that told his family what to do with his stuff even his bloody TV set but not where my sisters body was. The inquest was a joke as the judge was a friend of his while he was alive. Eventually a avid cold case detective took up the case a held him responsible. The murder of a loved one take every last shred of innocence you have left in your soul. I find I'm consumed with either grief or hate. Or at times both. You are doing the right thing in getting in contact with those of us that have been through it. Be aware that people will want to hear all the details. I used to get really cranky with them but eventually I realised it's just human nature. You are part of a exclusive club now that all its members wish they weren't in, this all the more reason to support each other. Take. Ross

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
