Profile Information

About Me:
I'm a 23 year-old single mom from Tennessee, though I currently live in Alexandria, VA.
About my Loss:
Since 2004, I have lost both of my grandparents (within a year of eachother, my grandma while I was pregnant), my father's best friend who was like a father to me. 4 extremely close friends, 3 friends who I was close to but did lose touch with, as well as numerous classmates from high school. Ironically, every one of these people I've lost are all male except for my grandmother. They all made an impact on my life, some greater than others, but I feel such a deep sense of being incomplete. I also found out this evening one of my best friends, who is only 22 was diagnosed with liver cancer.

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
