About Me:
I am 45 years old. I am a psychiatric nurse.
About my Loss:
My longtime boyfriend died unexpectedly on July 2nd. He had leukemia and had no idea. He had some legal issues that he was dealing with. He had lost quite a bit of weight since he was arrested in March of this year. Everyone, including myself, attributed the weight loss to stress. He was a childhood friend. We had known each other since we were 11 years old. He had not had an easy life and he struggled with addiction, pain, and mental health issues. I struggled with some of the same issues he did. We understand one another in a way that we had never experienced with anyone else. He put me through hell at times but I never stopped loving him. His name was John. I hope I will be with him again someday.

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
