Hi all,

I am sorry that I have not been communicating with anyone, or starting new discussions.  Some administrator I am lol.

I have been going through a lot lately, as I am sure everyone has.  It seems to have really gotten the best of me and control over my life.  I hope that all of you are doing well, and I hope that you are all coping and at peace with your loss and yourselves.

This month will be 9 months since I lost Brittainy (isn't that strange, that is how long it takes to carry and give birth to your child).

I haven't heard from anyone in a while, and would like for everyone to let me know how you are doing.  I would also like for everyone to let me know what you are doing to cope with your loss.  A lot of times the things that we share, might help someone else to cope as well.  So by all means everyone share what you are doing.  It is not only therapeutic, but it might help others.

I love all of you, and pray for you everyday, that God will bring peace to your hearts, minds, spirits, and family.

So in the next discussion I will be the one to start off telling you what I have been doing to try to cope with my loss.  I hope that everyone joins in and we can really get this room started up.  I believe truly that God is the only reason that I have made it through not only the loss of my sweet angel, Brittainy, but through many more things in my life.

I hope everyone participates in this, and I welcome any newcomers, and hope that you will invite others that you know to join.  They don't necessarily have to have had the same loss, so if you know anyone that is suffering and needs support of any kind please by all means invite them here.

I love you all, Gyla Darden

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More

Sibling Loss

This group is for anyone that has lost a brother or sister. Sibling loss is often minimized and people don't realize how devastating losing a sibling can be. I lost my older sister and my life will never be the same. She was my only sibling, I looked up to her, I went to her for everything. I lost my past, present and future. It is traumatic.See More

Triggers Continue to Surface

Late February is a challenging time of year for me.  Jen’s birthday is the 23rd and serves as an annual reminder of all of the potential that was lost…Her’s (mainly), mine, the world’s honestly.  This year she would be 52…It is increasingly hard to imagine, through all of the iterations possible, what she could have become, what was to be her (significant) impact on the world. That being said, things, emotions, have largely settled down since I committed a potential version of what could have…See More
