How can we make this easier? - A Research Team

I am part of a research team at Saint Louis University that is conducting a research project about how families communicate about making medical decisions for loved ones at the end-of- life. If you are over 18, and have had a close family member for whom a medical decision had to be made at the end of life, we’d like to talk to you about your family communication in that situation. If you are willing to tell your story, e-mail Corinne Gibson at cgibso10@slu.edu. Feel free to share this with others who might be interested.

The interview process for this research study is two-fold. We first ask that you fill out a background questionnaire about your experience. Then, we would like to follow up with phone call to ask you about your family's story with the end-of-life experience. I know this can be difficult, especially talking with a stranger, but your are free to stop the interview at any time. Your input is extremely valuable to our study, and I hope you consider contacting me.

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
