Let's watch out for SCAMMERS - Wolves among Sheep

Hello Every One,

So there is this fellow with profile (J. Pollard, San Fransisco, CA, USA).

His profile is protected. he sent me a private message, once i responded with my email, he sent the email scam below. Let us watch out for Wolves amongst us, who target vulnerable widows. I just chose to strike through, so we know it is a scammer!

Excuse me Julie Gibbs,

I have been in search of someone with this last name "Gibbs" so when I saw your name I was pushed to contact you and see how best we can assist each other.
My name is Mr James Pollard. I am working with Commercial bank of Dubai(UAE). I believe it is the wish of God for me to come across you now. I am having an important business discussion I wish to share with you which I believe will interest you because it is in connection with your last name and you are going to benefit from it.

One Late Dr Dean "Gibbs" a citizen of your country, had a fixed deposit with my bank in January 2006 for 36 calendar months, valued at US$5,500,000.00 (Five Million, Five Hundred Thousand US Dollars) . The due date for this deposit contract was the 16th of January 2009. Sadly Dr Dean was among the death victims in the May 27 2006 Earthquake disaster in Jawa, Indonesia that killed over 5,000 people. He was in Indonesia on a business trip and that was how he met his end. My bank management is yet to know about his death, I knew about it because he was my friend and I am his account officer. Dr Dean did not mention any Next of Kin/ Heir when the account was opened, and he Dr Dean was not married and had no children.Recently my Bank Management requested that I should give instructions on what to do about his funds, if to renew the contract. I know this will happen and that is why I have been looking for a means to handle the situation, because if my Bank Directors happen to know that Dr Dean is dead and do not have any Heir, they will take the funds for their personal use, so I don't want such to happen. That was why when I saw your last name I was happy and I am now seeking your cooperation to present you as Next of Kin/ Heir to the account, since you have the same last name with him and my bank headquarters will release the account to you.

There is no risk involved; the transaction will be executed under a legitimate arrangement that will protect you and I from any breach of law. It is better that we claim the money, than allowing the Bank Directors to take it, they are rich already. I am not a greedy person,so I am suggesting we share the funds equally, 50/50% to both parties,my share will assist me to start my own company which has been my dream.

Let me know your opinion on this. I have more to write to you about the details once I receive your urgent response through my personal Email address. Please let this Secret remain between the both of us only.

Have a nice day and God bless.
Anticipating your communication

Mr James Pollard.

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More

Sibling Loss

This group is for anyone that has lost a brother or sister. Sibling loss is often minimized and people don't realize how devastating losing a sibling can be. I lost my older sister and my life will never be the same. She was my only sibling, I looked up to her, I went to her for everything. I lost my past, present and future. It is traumatic.See More

Triggers Continue to Surface

Late February is a challenging time of year for me.  Jen’s birthday is the 23rd and serves as an annual reminder of all of the potential that was lost…Her’s (mainly), mine, the world’s honestly.  This year she would be 52…It is increasingly hard to imagine, through all of the iterations possible, what she could have become, what was to be her (significant) impact on the world. That being said, things, emotions, have largely settled down since I committed a potential version of what could have…See More
