Just a few months after my husband, Patrick and I got married he was diagnosed with hepatopulmonary syndrome. When he was born he had to undergo two major heart surgeries. During those surgeries he had to get multiple blood transfusions. He contracted a disease that affected his liver and he never knew he had it. He was 31 years old when he was diagnosed with liver failure and because of this it affected his lungs. He was on the transplant list at ucsf and we even flew out to the mayo clinic in mn to see if there was anything we can do.

At first he was not sick enough,  which I don't understand. A 31-33 year old man should not be on oxygen to help him breath everyday. Poor guy couldn't walk for a minute without running out of breath. For about two years he was in and out of the hospital,  visits becoming more and more frequent. We always laughed and called it our second home.

During his last visit in the hospital, he got a really bad cough. He was than put into the icu because he couldn't breath.  Because of this he was to sick for the transplant. He was put into a medically induced coma for a few days. His vital signswere getting better. Than he was transferred to ucsf. They said if and when he wakes up and could transfer from the bed to a chair he would be put onto the emergency list. Well he didn't make it. He passed away the day before our 3 year wedding anniversary. I miss him so much. Words can't describe how I feel. I just want him to come back. I love you baby! ! ♡♥♡♥♡♥

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
