Is there an online support group for survivors of the loss of an only child which meets on a weekly or monthly basis? My Aunt and Uncle have lost their only child - a 19 year-old son - and they are in such pain... we need help

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your precious son. Why do bad things happen to good people? We may never find the answers.......please know that you are not alone.

I lost my 32 yr old son, my only child, on July 10 2019. He was killed in a motorcycle accident. My heart is shattered and my life will never be the same. This is life's most cruel event.

Dear Stacy,

I lost my only child, a son, two years ago this October to a heart aneurysm. At times the grief still hits me hard but I find I am growing more accepting of the loss and can live with it.  Your grief never goes, away but it gets easier to bear.  I will be thinking of you.

Hi Stacey - I'm so sorry to hear about the tragic loss of your precious daughter. I am now going into my 3rd year without my only child Michael. Though the grief never goes away, it does shift and you are able to good days. Please stay connected and know that you are not alone on this journey

Hi Stacey,

My condolences and deepest sympathy to you.  I'm so sorry for your loss.  My son passed away 27 months ago in a car accident, I know the pain, sorrow and anger you are experiencing.

Thank you. My 18 year old daughter was murdered a month ago. Having a great deal of difficulty dealing with her loss and the multiple feelings of guilt and snger that have come with it. Havent been able to start functioning enough to get back to a functional life yet. Nit sure if i will be able too

Hello Stacey

I am so so sorry to have to welcome you to this group. I know the devastation and gut wrenching sorrow you are going through right now. I wish I could tell you it gets better. But it doesn't - you just learn ways to manage the grief and carry on somehow to make your child proud. The pain will subside with time as your mind lets the reality in you will deal with it a little at a time. I believe our spirits never die and that we will be together again. That is how I get by. I lost my son Daniel in a tragic car accident almost 4 years ago. He was 17. I want my son back every second of every day. My life is shattered. I can only send you lots of love and prayers and hope you can find some hope and support here. We are the only ones who knows ow it feels and are always here to listen.

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
