Losing Someone to Cancer

This is for anyone who has lost somone to cancer. I lost my adopted Mom to breast cancer some years ago. She was everything I could have asked for. She loved me because I was just me. She also loved my family and children as if they were her own.

Kathleen, I'm so sorry that you have financial worries on top of dealing with losing Rocky. Life is so unfair.

I have always appreciated Britain's National Health Service funded via direct taxation and founded via a Labour Government in 1945-48, /Democratic Government in the USA.  No bills, no financial worries whatsoever.

Kathleen...I can relate to your post .Bills still must be paid after we lose our spouse... If they don't get paid, everything gets repossed or shut off. Can you not sign up on Social Security for help. Most every one I know who have been left the bills and food, have been signed up and it is not all that much, but it helps .  Just a thought.  Will send prayers for you .

Kathleen, I know precisely how you feel.  My wife was my world, my soul mate, she made everything special, she had class.  When she passed, she took two thirds of me with her.

I live in the US too. I don't know what I'm going to do when the bills all start coming in. We are not wealthy or even comfortable...we are not even making it really...it's pathetic. I will have to file bankruptcy. I'm an office assistant. Those co-pays are going to be a lot I know. Plus I have my own health issues.

I feel like just getting a gun and ending myself when I lose him

Shirley, likewise to you, too.  Trouble is everyday now, just melts into another.

Hi Shirley, yes I know about the American private health system.  This is why the UK's NHS is highly valued.

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
