hey Mike my wife died February 24th and I had to make the decision to remove her from dialysis because it just wasn't working anymore and when you have to make decisions like that your mind really takes control what you think you could have done I still question if I did the right thing or not but I wouldn't have wanted to see her suffer

Hey – what a terrible thing to have in common. Losing our spouses on the very same day. How are you feeling now?

So very sorry for your loss, Mike. It is not easy under any circumstances, but, to pull the ventilator took a lot of courage for you! For me, it was never allowing my husband to be placed on the vent. Cancer is an awful disease and it hurts everyone surrounding the actual patient. I'm sure you saw your wife suffering, just as I saw my husband becoming so much less than he used to be. Pain and loss of weight...hard on everyone. How long was she sick?

Sibling Loss

This group is for anyone that has lost a brother or sister. Sibling loss is often minimized and people don't realize how devastating losing a sibling can be. I lost my older sister and my life will never be the same. She was my only sibling, I looked up to her, I went to her for everything. I lost my past, present and future. It is traumatic.See More

Triggers Continue to Surface

Late February is a challenging time of year for me.  Jen’s birthday is the 23rd and serves as an annual reminder of all of the potential that was lost…Her’s (mainly), mine, the world’s honestly.  This year she would be 52…It is increasingly hard to imagine, through all of the iterations possible, what she could have become, what was to be her (significant) impact on the world. That being said, things, emotions, have largely settled down since I committed a potential version of what could have…See More
