Marie, it is a beautiful poem. I liked the Angelic Tidings writing as well...it is very comforting...I like the line "the indigo is like the sky at midnight sprinkled with stars as my mind now holds the thoughts and dreams that were both ours..." Jesse had grown to be my closest friend as well as son...

Regarding Mary Neal...for me, I was especially drawn to her because of the subsequent death of her young son Willie. (The first draft of her manuscript was completed the very day her son got killed, ran over by an inattentive driver). Her experience of touching the afterlife very much gave me comfort.

May everyone have a restful evening as possible...it is hard around the holidays facing the empty chair...

Thank You for your kind words Laurie, yes it's very hard so we need to rest and gather comfort from what we can.

Zell I believe God provides comfort too. I've had two similar experiences. One when I was in incredible pain and at the point of giving up. Thank you for sharing your thoughts they are of great comfort.

Zell,

I was wondering what you think.

The following scriptures speak convincingly of the earth.

Psalms 37:11 — But the meek will possess the earth, And they will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.

Isaiah 45:18 (KJV-S) — For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.

Psalms 115:16 (KJV-S) — The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD'S: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.

Psalms 37:29 — The righteous will possess the earth, And they will live forever on it.

Matthew 5:5 — “Happy are the mild-tempered, since they will inherit the earth.

Notice that the last quote is from Jesus. If Jesus says that people will inherit the earth how do we draw the conclusion that we are only here temporarily?
Dennis,

Assuming that Jesus even said that -- it's symbolic, like much of the bible.

Usually people mad at God are simply mad at a false god projected by the fundamentalist part of the church...the two faced god who tortures his enemies forever in "hell" (while asking us to forgive ours).

And if there were a God, I think it very unlikely that He would have such an uneasy vanity as to be offended by those who doubt His existence.

Bertrand Russell.

I appreciate your view and I would never try to convince you otherwise.

But people who use the Bible say all kinds of things about the Bible and what they say makes me scratch my head?

Because I see the Bible as authority (I respect that you don't) I am interested in how others that use the Bible as authority would explain those scriptures.

An honest question I think?

Whoever will have nothing to do with thorns, can never gather roses.

God says do what you wish, but make the wrong choice and you will be tortured in hell for eternity. That's not free will. It's like a man telling his girlfriend, do what you wish, but if you choose to leave me, I will track you down and blow your brains out. When a man says this we call him a psychopath. When god says the same we call him "loving" and build churches in his honor.

William C Easttom II.

The Bible does NOT teach eternal torment in Hell.

Religion teaches that.

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
