A place to share writings or pictures that you found helpful in your journey.  I know that over the last 3+ years I have saved many.

8/30/15  It is now over 5+ years and I am still travelling this journey of grief, but it has changed.  It is a little kinder and gentler at times.

I had hoped that others would have shared on here.  Anything that you have that touches you.  Writings, pictures?

The Elephant In The Room

There's an elephant in the room.
It is large and squatting, so it is hard to get around it.
Yet, we squeeze by with, "how are you" and "I'm fine..."
and a thousand other forms of trivial chatter.
We talk about everything else except the elephant in the room.
We all know it's there.
We are thinking about the elephant as we talk.
It is constantly on our minds.
For you see, it is a very big elephant.
But we do not talk about the elephant in the room.
Oh, please, somebody say my child`s name; Oh, please, say it again.
Oh, please, let`s talk about the elephant in the room.
For if we talk about their death, perhaps we can talk about their life.
Can I say their name...and not have you look away?
For if I cannot, you are leaving me alone...
In a room...with an elephant.

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
