Intense longing for my Cheryl all day,  I have not been able to shake it.

I went for a few mile walk in the park with my son and lost it while there.  Then my son wanted some ice cream so we went by the shop in town that we like.  Adjacent to the ice cream shop is a consignment store that my sister had taken many of Cheryl's clothes.  I made the mistake of looking in the window, and there in the window was the hat my wife had worn the day we got married.  I can not escape her presence in my mind and the longing for her today.  What pain.

Hi Anne

I am sorry for the loss of your husband, we all pay such a terrible price for falling in love and sharing our lives.  Yes, seeing my wife's hat was the cherry on top of a very difficult day.  Thanks for reading my blog, they say writing helps many people get through this, so it is certainly worth a try.  I hope things move forward in a good way for you.

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
