Dreams

It seems my mom is always in my dreams or the ones I remember anyway. It's better because I don't wake up crying now. It's the same kind of dreams I would have when she was alive. From what I have heard it usually takes a long time for your loved one to come to you in dreams so I try to be thankful for it. It still hurts when I wake up and she's gone but at least I have that.

Mortality

Weighing heavy on my mind day and night. What a useless worry that has become my biggest fear. In an instant it became my new companion. Will it's nagging go away or only get worse? Now more than ever it is important to live for the day, for the moment.

Hi Sheila,

I relate to what you wrote about your mother in law. My MIL is very nice, and since my mom passed, she's been trying to make more of a connection with me--calling more, writing more, etc. It's nice, but she's not mom. She never will be. And that's hard. Sending you hugs.

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
