I lost my husband suddenly and unexpectedly. I'm devastated

My husband was truly the love of my life.  On just a regular day at home, he began trying to cut down a tree on our property.  (I didn't know what he was doing at the time).  Once my daughter came to look for him, we found him lying on the ground severely injured, still awake and able to converse a little.  We called for help and 911.  However, at the the time of the accident, Oregon had had a severe ice storm.  We had electrical lines down entering our property and electrical lines down all…See More

Just wanted to say, Linda, you have posted really lovely photos.

I understand when you say you can't imagine a future without your soulmate. I try to convince myself by saying that the fact that I still can't accept my loss is because it was so sudden and unexpected, and I'll never be able to come to terms with it. For me, my love isn't d.... He's just not here. I never use that word, never have done and never will.

But then again, I think, having related to others in this group, even when you know your loved one is leaving you, it's equally heartbreaking and devastating. No matter what the circumstances, our grief is equally unbearable, only others (like in this group) who are going through the same grief are able to understand what you're going through, and it's comforting and soothing sharing our thoughts together.

Moving Through the Seven Stages of Grief

When a heart breaks, you’re left gasping for air. After a while you seem fine, yet fall apart unexpectedly at random moments, sanity seemingly forsaken. There’s a saying that when a heart breaks, it cracks to allow golden love to shine through onto others. Do you see the value in going through this?It may not feel like it now, but grief is an honor. It is an honor to feel that much, to have loved that much. It teaches you compassion, gratitude, resilience, and the importance of grabbing life by…See More
