Hi Joyce

I just read you are having a hip replacement soon.  I wanted to wish you well and I do believe your husband will be watching over you.  Please take care.

Joyce, sorry to hear about your need for surgery. Don't worry, everything will be o. K. Even if your beloved soulmate can't be with you physically, he will be watching over you to make sure you receive all the care and comfort you need and deserve.

All the best.

Hi Joyce - People are trying to be well meaning when they say it will get better in time.  That however isn't helpful to you, because even though most people mean well, they simply don't know what to say.  I've had the same experiences.

I know what you mean with the sleeping pills.  They work for a little bit, but nothing takes the pain away does it?  The loneliness and the distress is just there. Do you have someone you can talk to, who is prepared to sit and listen?   Sometimes a hug is all I need.  I wish to god it was Pete giving me that hug, because no matter who is holding you, it isn't the same is it?

We are all in this together Joyce.  Grief has brought us together.  I'm just hoping that this next week goes by as fast as it can.  Please take care I'm thinking of you. - Ros

Hi Joyce   I truly can understand your pain.  My husband passed away from his cancer on the 5th November this year.   It is only 6 weeks since he died and with the lead up to Christmas I'm not handling things too well either.

I find mornings are the worst because I wake up and the house is so quite and that is when the loneliness sets in.   I live on acreage so I have plenty to do to occupy my time, but everywhere I look I see Pete and this beautiful parkland we have created together.  Memories are wonderful, but right now they also bring on the tears.

You are in my thoughts.  Please take care

Sorry, that was a mistake. I'm having trouble inserting posts in this forum.
Joyce, I just want to say that I understand what you are going through right now, I lost my beloved a year ago after 26 yrs together, but it feels like yesterday. It takes time, slowly, gradually,we come to terms with what's s happened and accept our lives have changed forever, but the cherished memories of our loved ones will always be in our hearts and in our minds wherever we are, whatever we are doing.
I'm sure sharing our grief together in this group will give us the comfort we need to go on in this world that keeps turning, even though we feel we have stopped moving.
All the best.

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
