Dear Emma, Without knowing the full story. It is difficult to give any thoughts. The most important thing is that you do forgive your Mom. For me that is the first step on this long journey. Maybe your Mom was trying to protect you from the hurt and pain. Maybe she was being selfish and didn't want anyone else involved in her husbands illness and death. I feel sad for you as you never got the oppertunity to speak to your Dad before he died. Another thought, maybe that he didn't want you upset either. The important thing if for you to move on. Not until you are ready. That is important as people move on when they are not ready and suffer the consequences later. Please take your time and think about forgiving your Mom. That is the easy part. Don't hold anger if you can. Anger is a negative emotion and hanging on to it only affects us more. Take care hugggggs, John

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
