Prayer For Peace

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,

Where there is hatred, let me sow love;

where there is injury, pardon;

where there is doubt, faith;

where there is despair, hope;

where there is darkness, light;

where there is sadness, joy;

O Divine Master, grant that I

may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;

to be understood as to understand;

to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we…

Healing with Pictures

I wanted to share an idea of what we can do with pictures of our loved ones.  Nancy Gershman, a digital artist, creates meaningful portraits from photos, memories and stories that we think about every day. Here is a sample of her work:

DREAMSCAPE PHOTOMONTAGE: Myrtle pays homage to the memory of her twin and keeps a promise to her sister.…

Marcel Proust 1871 - 1922 In the Midst of Winter

From Letters

. . . . You will not be cured, but . . . one day (an idea that will horrify you now) this intolerable misfortune will become a blessed memory of a being who will never again leave you.  But you are in a stage of unhappiness where it is impossible for you to have faith in these reassurances.

Healthy Affirmations

Affirmations are simple statements you say to yourself that place positive ideas and suggestions into your brain.  The key is in frequent repeating of these positive statements, preferably out loud, softly, to yourself - so that your system can absorb these thoughts and come to act on them automatically.

Use the following affirmation to improve your health:

I take care of myself; I eat balanced meals regularly even if I am not hungry.  I take frequent rest…

email from my sister Carolyn requesting Prayer

Hi Melanie, Diana and Mom,

I want to share some news with you, because I know extra prayers can be powerful. Joshua lost a co-worker/friend this week. His friend, Andy, was on his way home from work Monday, and just innocently stopped at a stop sign waiting on traffic. Apparently a semi driver failed to heed his stop sign, and swerved, attempting to miss a car that was in the intersection with the right of way. This caused the semi trailer to tip over onto Andy's car, crushing it.… Continue

Billy Graham

Sometimes religious emails are better than some of the funny ones we get and pass on....

Priceless .

Billy Graham was returning to Charlotte after a speaking engagement and when his Plane arrived there was a limousine there to transport him to his home.

As he prepared to get into the limo, he stopped and spoke to the driver.

'You know' he said, 'I am 87 years old and I have never

Driven a limousine. Would you mind if I drove it for a… Continue

Donna Marsh O’Connor, Mother of Vanessa Lang Langer

As the world moves further and further away from the actual events of 9/11/2001 both in time and spirit, and as 9/11 effaces into yet another simple story cast in history, as the parent of Vanessa Lang Langer lost as the towers fell, I want to let it go. I want to stop talking about… Continue

Just Breathe

2Am and I'm still awake writing this song

If i get it all down on paper it's no longer inside of me threaten' the life it belongs to.

And I feel like I'm naked in front of the crowd

Cause these words are my diary screamin' out aloud

And I know that you'll use them however you want to.

But you can't jump the track

We're like cars on a cable

And life's like an hourglass glued to the table,

No one can find the rewind button now

Sing it if you… Continue

The Heaven on Earth Stage of Spiritual Development

Two millennia ago, Yeshua taught about the kingdom of God and lived the model humankind could emulate in its evolution toward spiritual maturity. Some individuals today model Yeshua’s teaching, and we can see glimmers of it in books and movies that end with love conquering all and people living together in brotherhood. But for society as a whole, Yeshua’s teachings have had little effect. We are living in a spiritual dark age.

Materialism has consumed the collective psyche of… Continue

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
