About Me:
I'm 52, I think that's way too young for this, but ANY age is. I worked as a nursing home Activities Director for around 30 years. Perfectly healthy, skinny and athletic. Then 'got' breast cancer, I'm fine now (5 year landmark just passed) but the chemo did me in. Now I'm disabled, and hate it! would much rather be working.
About my Loss:
Just lost my husband of 29 years to Pancreatic Cancer 3 weeks ago. We have no children, except the fur-babies. My husband's job had transferred us to NH a couple of years ago. We had no family, no close friends there. My honey's only request, when given the diagnosis Jan. 20, 2010 was that he did not want to die in NH. So I rushed together a trip for us to his hometown, found and bought a house, and were 4 days from the move when he suddenly went downhill and died. I went through with the move (no choice) with the help of one of his cousins who flew up to help me. She has been my main support.

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
