I was drawn to your last post about your kids keeping you going. I too lost my husband about 4 months ago and I have 2 young daughters 4 and 7. I miss my husband dearly, but the saddest moments for me are when I think about all of the amazing things he'll miss out on with the kids. I am 37 years old and work full time as a high school teacher.  My students keep me going too and give me purpose as well. At night when the my daughters are in bed and I'm awake to take care of things is the worst.  I hate doing the day to day things along. I miss having someone to share my day with. I do have more moments of happiness each day. I talk about my husband with my kids, family, students, friends.  It helps me remember all of the good memories.  If you ever want to share a story or memory I will lend an ear. Sometimes it helps to talk to someone you don't know, but who has been through the same thing.

Assumptions

An assumption is an unexamined belief: what is thought to be true without ever really realizing that we think in that way. For better or worse, understanding starts with entertaining the idea that something is true.  Truly profound thoughts generally come to light from the relaxation of these (flawed) assumptions.  This is where I find myself today...Perhaps, one of the more significant drivers to pushing down the loss and grief at the time of the accident, ignoring it and mindlessly walking…See More
